REGULAR PARTTIME or FULLTIME FARM LABOR IN KOHALA

*Must be willing to work on organic crops, care and maintenance of animals, equipment operations, and some construction.

*Must have own transportation and start immediately

*Open to work PT 19/hrs weekly or FT 40/hrs weekly (incl. some weekends)

*Pay PT $15/hr or FT $15-$17/hr + 30% fringe (based on qualifications)

Kahua Pa’a Mua is currently hiring for the position of Farm Labor to support its community projects. Kahua Paa Mua conducts culturally rooted ‘aina-based programs for youth and adults.  Must have experience with agriculture in Hawaii and knowledge of Hawaiian culture and agriculture. Knowledge of irrigation, fencing and general farm operations is a plus. Position is two days per week, 16-hours per week.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Able to operate small farm equipment such as weed wacker, tractor and mower. 

  • Able to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, sickle, etc.

  • Able to work in sun and rain. 

Team Requirements:

  • Able to follow instructions.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Must be punctual.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse management and participant team.
